What a week!

My first week here in the city and we had a few disasters and lots of rain! It is much more humid here than in my last area and I am used to having a bike so I was sticky all week and by legs are really sore from speed walking everywhere! But our investigators are amazing so I dont mind walking in the rain! Plus there is a little less dirt than in Olmos!

On monday night I tried to plug in my hairdryer and blew the power in the apartment building. We shattered a stack of plates, missed buses, got lost... it goes on! But we had a great time through it all!
Hermana Callis is great, she is really hard working and has a lot of knowledge, we get along really well.

We had an awesome Family Home Evening with a family last night where we watched a 10 min clip called the mediator, I really loved it.
The ward here is really nice, I am slowly getting to know everyone and the area. I only have 6 weeks to learn everything before hermana Callis leaves! I think i am going to get lost a lot!

Thats all to report for this week! I am not gonna have as many photos each week now, coz since I am in the city I dont really wanna be pulling out my camera all the time, might get mugged haha.

Heres a photo of my and my old comp and some Hermanas at transfers and one from my new area of a happy birthday sign that it almost for me haha

Hermana Orgill and Is last day together!

My First Move :O

Hey All!

This week I officially finished my training, I now have my full missionary liscence haha (litterally, my companion made me one haha!) That means I have one less hour of study and everyone have much higher expectations of me too!

The Assistants to the President called on Saturday to tell my companion that she would be training a new companion and I would be going to Lanus, about 3 hours away! We were gutted! We only got one transfer together, and we get along so well and the next three weeks we have a lot of baptisms, so we were kinda sad that I am going to miss seeing the people I started teaching get baptised, but this is how it is in the mission. I am glad they are taking this step even if I wont be there to see it.

Lanus is the complete oposite from Olmos. It is the city, right near the capital, Buenos Aires and jsut around the corner from the Mission President (Pressure much!). My companion is from Idaho USA and is super nice, we are gonna get along really well I am sure. But I will also only have one transfer with her, because hse has been here 3 transfers and no one stays longer than 4. So ill have to say goodbye to her in 6 weeks! I am going to have had a lot of companions in my first few months!
Our flat is brand new and really nice, we have a balcony and lots of space. But it is in the 3rd floor and carry my cuitcases up there was a nightmare! We dont have bikes here, I am gonna miss my bike! I just learnt to bike really well with no hands haha.
Lanus is part of the Buenos Aires South mission so that means I wont have to change mission president which is nice, but the majority of the missionaries that I know and that I was in the Missionary Training Centre with are going to be in the East mission, so that is really sad. But Ill see them all again one day.

Saturday we went to watch the cultural event for the dedication of the Argentina Cordoba Temple, we took some of our investigators and had a great time. There was loads of latin dances and it was so appropriate the happiness that was felt. All of the members of the church in Argentina Celebrating the dedication of the new House of The Lord. Every one was so happy!
The next day we went to the dedication. It was a sacred and incredible experience, I really enjoyed listening to apostles talking to each other like normal friends and joking around while they put the final bit of cement on the temple! It was amazing! President Uctdorf (from the first presidency of the church) was there to do the dedication and Elder Cristopherson (apostle) was there also- he speaks spanish like a native, i was shocked, I didnt even know! He speaks better than all of us, it was amzing. It was great to have been able to see a temple dedicated, I may not get the oportunity to see it again. It was a special weekend for Argentina. This temple will bless millions of families!

I hope that you are all well! I love you all!

Most of the photos taken this week were on my companions camera and she hasnt sent them to me yet, but here are a few. One was on the way to the Temple Dedication with a member Lilly and the other is me saying goodbye to Dominga and Mirta, two members who I have seen really change their lives since I arrived. I am gonna miss them!!

Most embarassing moment yet... Changes... I GOT TO SEE MY FAMILY!

Hey All!!

This week was awesome! We were teaching loads every day, which is always the best kind of week.
Hermana Orgill and I are really hoping that we dont get tranfered next monday (it is tranfers) because we are a machine together and get along really well. If we stay together this transfer it means that we will be moving missions. I will be moving to the Buenos Aires East misison because this area is going to become part of the new mission that is being formed. It also means that we could be companions for a long time, because once the new mission is formed the new mission president is not going to make any changes for a few transfers (each transfer is 6 weeks) because he will be evaluating the mission and settling in. So fingers crossed that we stay together and become "eternal companions" haha.
But anything could happen at this point, lots of people are being randomly moved, and some sent for extra training, others are being moved who have only been in their area for one transfer and others are staying in the area even though they have been there 6 months already. Also 11 areas are being shut down and loads of new areas being opened. Lots of us are going to be doing "whitewash" which means two missionaries who dont know the area get sent there and basically have to start from scratch knowing no one. Its hard work.
Our zone leader got pulled from our area to train to be one of the Assitants to the new President of the East mission. He had only been in his area 4 weeks. We were sad to see him go, he was awesome!

In my next email youll know what is to become of me :-/

MY EMBARASSING MOMENT: So something horrible happened this week... We are sitting in the middle of a lesson. We were teaching a family in their green house, sitting on wooden crates. We had just asked them "what role does God play inyour lives?" when I turned around and saw that the dog had its leg up as if it was going to pee on my bac. I tried to jump up and slipped and landed in the mud. My companion is like "what are you doing?" and I pull my lovely beige coat off and the dog had peed down the back of it! WHAT THE HECK! We were all dying of laughter and it was kinda hard to get back to a deep spiritual topic after that!! We wash our clothes by hand, but luckily a member offered to wash my coat in her machine. I cannot believe that even happened!

On Saturday I got to skype my family for mothers day! It was so nice to see their faces. but also hard, because it means that the next time I see their faces will be in 7 months time at Christmas! I will be 21! Time flies though, in no time at all I will be seeing them . We were feeling a little depressed after skyping our families, so today we ate ice cream and watched Mulan 2. It is awesome that we are allowed to watch Disney movies! We felt much better after that and are ready to get back to work.

Thank you all for all your love and support, I miss you all a lot!

Love Hermana Wilson

A wet and cold week in Olmos!

Hey Everyone!

This week was a tough one! Basically everything that could go wrong and everything that could bring us down did! It was a week of testing!

It was so cold! Like FREEEEEEEEEZING!!! Durring the night even with the heater I thought i was gonna freeze, and it isnt even winter yet! (Shout out to my mummy who made me back thermals!)
It rained so much that some of the streets flooded and we just got soaking wet whenever we left. We kinda made the most of that though, it was sort of halarious how we looked wearing so much clothing and with really old ugly clothes on that we didnt care would get covered in mud. -Gotta love dirt roads on bikes!

I inherited some clothes from a sister who finished her mission, and she inherited them from someone who inherited them from someone. We call these clothes our "etcheverry clothes" because etchevery is where all the roads are mud and where we teach people in the middle of their vegetables fields in the mud haha. We actually look like nuns in these clothes. I will attach a photo of my maroon etchevery skirt and I. Seriously though, that skirt is so comfortable, its like having a giant blanket!
Because of the rain we missed  LOT of appointments with investigators because we cannot go to etcheveryy in the rain because its too dangerous to bike down the main road in the rain and then it is all flooded and muddy. I was really upset about that, had a little cry about it coz I was tired and frustrated! hahaha. Then! That same day we had a blackout.... no power in the whole town, so we had to go home as soon as it was dark because there were not street lights and we were too scared to be outside. Then the next day about 20 minutes on bike away from our flat my bike tire punctured! And we had to walk pushing it all the way to the bike store, which took 40minutes longer than normal......

But Sunday was a great day at church and really cheered us up! Plus next sunday is the dedication of the Argentina Cordoba Temple! So we get to go watch that and we are really excited!
Today our district came to Olmos and we made pizzas and wacthed the Disney mocie Mulan, which I loved! My district is awesome! Elder Doddema is a real softy, he is so lovely. And he cried durring Mulan hahahahaa! We all felt "trunky" (homesick in missionary language) when Mulan was reunited with her father haha.

Love you all!

Was great to hear from so many of you this week!

love
Hermana Wilson
